Like any SUV, an urban SUV is about getting you where you need to go. The EcoSport puts 200mm of ground clearance between you and the road, potholes, ditches or whatever else is in your way. Add good approach and departure angles and 550mm water wading capability and you’re pretty much ready for anything.

Built to meet some of the world’s toughest safety standards, the EcoSport protects you in a number of ways. The body is reinforced with high strength boron steel and front passenger and side curtain airbags give you extra peace of mind.

There’s voice control and then there’s SYNC^®. It seamlessly connects you and your EcoSport with your Bluetooth^® and USB devices so life goes on while you drive, safely. Just say the words and SYNC does the rest. Dial home. Read-out text messages. Browse and select music tracks. Even if you’re on a call when it’s time to get in or out of your EcoSport, just keep talking. SYNC automatically switches you between your handset and car.

Smart storage

Having enough space is one thing. How well you use it is another. The 20 storage spaces inside the EcoSport offer some unexpected surprises. The glovebox can also be a cooler, using the air conditioning to keep your drinks just right. A slide-out drawer under the front seat keeps valuables safely out of sight. Even your umbrella has its own space.

Space that grows

When we say the EcoSport is right-sized, we’re not just talking about how easy it is to drive in the city. We’re also talking about how much room it gives you inside. Hill Launch Assist

Every uphill start will be perfect from now on. Hill Launch Assist stops the car from rolling back for a few seconds after you take your foot off the brake, giving you time to smoothly accelerate away. So if someone’s stopped right behind you, you can make a clean getaway.

Fuel economy of a 1 litre

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better combination of fuel economy and power than the turbocharged 1.0 liter EcoBoost. This innovative petrol engine uses up to 20% less fuel than a traditional 1.6 liter petrol engine, yet still delivers the power you’d expect of a 1.6, with full torque at just 1500rpm. (A diesel engine is also available.)

When it comes to power, the turbocharged 1 litre EcoBoost can compete with a traditional 1.6 litre petrol engine, delivering full torque at just 1500rpm. That’s a lot of power in an economical 3 cylinder footprint. But that’s what makes it so exceptional.
